What is PrEP? Watch the video and read our fact sheet to find out what PrEP is.
Is PrEP for me? PrEP suits a person who has an ongoing high risk of HIV infection and is interested in taking PrEP medication. You may consider PrEP if, for example
  • if you are a man who has sex with other men and sometimes has sex without using a condom. This is especially important if you have a sex partner whom you know has HIV infection or is at high risk of HIV, whether you have male or female partners
  • if your partner injects drugs
  • if your partner/s are having sex with not only you but other people as well.

Discuss your options with your doctor.

PrEPX Study Please note that all Melbourne metropolitan places on the PrEPX Trial have been filled. We are unable to book appointments to enrol new clients on the trial. Clients that have missed out on enrolment can register their interest on a waiting list that is managed by the trial facilitators at The Alfred.
