Good clinical practice (GCP)

Research at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre is underpinned by good clinical research practice (GCP). GCP is the ethical and scientific standard by which research is designed, implemented and reported, ensuring the data are credible and the rights, integrity and confidentiality of participants are safeguarded.

Differing levels of medical research are supported and undertaken by research findings maximising clinical practice and policy. This can lead to improved patient care and outcomes, service delivery and efficiency.

Appropriately trained and qualified staff supervise all research studies.

Research output

Our research outputs are published in scientific journals, surveillance reports, conference presentations and the MSHC annual reports. Where our research has involved participants from the Centre, we also provide a summary of the completed research study on this website.

Many of these papers have been influential in changing and shaping clinical practice both nationally and internationally.

Innovation and research leadership continue as themes for the Research & Evaluation team.
