A particular type of penicillin is the usual treatment of syphilis. If you are allergic to penicillin there are alternative treatments. It is important complete treatment.

 

You should wait until seven days after treatment, and after all sores have healed, before having sex again.

 

A repeat blood test is usually done to check that the treatment has worked.
