What is it?

Sebaceous glands are glands that normally produce sebum. In some people, sebaceous glands can appear more prominently. Perianal sebaceous glands are a form of ectopic sebaceous gland.

Normally, sebaceous glands are only found in association with a hair follicle. They are not a sexually transmitted disease and are not infectious.

Clinical presentation

Sebaceous glands are small, painless, slightly raised yellowish or white papules or spots occurring without hair follicles.

They frequently occur in crops rather than a solitary lesion.

They often cause anxiety but they are completely harmless.
