- Most GP clinics should offer STI screening. While routine STI screening is vital to staying on top of STI prevention, from a public health perspective it is not urgent when compared with seeing individuals who may be symptomatic of an infection
- People who have STI symptoms should be tested and treated as soon as possible to stop the symptoms, and complications of untreated STIs and the onward STI transmission to others.
