You can make a booking for only 1 working day in advance.
This means, the only time slot to book is for today and the next working day.
Booking slots are limited. Return regularly for more available slots.
When making a booking a specific time for today or tomorrow will be allocated, only those with no symptoms can make a booking. We will try to see as close to that time as possible.
If there are no appointments available please try again 8am Monday to Friday or visit our partner clinics at Stay STI Free
What's involved in an STI test?
Routine testing consists of self-collected swabs and urine samples for gonorrhoea and chlamydia, and a nurse collected blood test for HIV and syphilis.
Other tests such as syphilis and HIV are offered based on symptoms.
When you come to the Centre
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your booking time so that you have time to sign in. If you are more than 5 minutes late, we will ask you to reschedule.
You are not required to see the triage nurse on arrival.
Whether you're coming into the Centre as a walk in or for a booked appointment, there's three things you need to do before you see a nurse or doctor:
- Check-in using your mobile phone to scan the QR code
- Complete the registration
- Wait in the waiting room to be called by a Doctor or Nurse
When you're in the clinic room
Once you are in the clinic room, the nurse will:
- Talk to you about which STI tests we recommend
- Let you know which samples we need to collect
- Collect a blood sample, if you are being tested for HIV and syphilis
- Give you instructions on collecting your own urine sample and swabs
- Give you labelled equipment to collect your own samples
Collecting your samples
The nurse will direct you to a bathroom to collect your own urine and swab samples.
The nurse will provide instructions on how to do this. There are also instructions inside the bathroom.
Once you have collected your samples, place the samples into the specimen collection box in the corridor.
You're done!
Getting your results
Results are available one week after your visit.
If you provided consent, we will SMS your negative HIV result within seven days. If your HIV result is either positive or inconclusive, we will call you and ask you to come in to the clinic to talk about your result.
If your test results show that you have an infection, we will always contact you to tell you and talk to you about treatment.
We will not contact you if you don't have any infections.
You can call us one week after your visit to check on your results.
